Ten months after the UK’s vote for Brexit lost him his job and his flagship policy to launch a capital markets union across the European bloc, Lord Hill is back with a renewed drive to unify financial services.

This time, however, the focus of the former European Commissioner for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union is not on tearing down barriers between disparate markets but on fostering consensus among City executives with opposing views on the UK’s future in the European Union and their European counterparts.
