One week into the job, and the new Lord Mayor of the City of London Michael Mainelli already has a clear goal for his year in office: support the City’s scientists and engineers.

“We’ve actually got more scientists and engineers than bankers and insurers in the City,” Mainelli tells Financial News. “It’s recognising the importance of that component.”
