LSE appoints new chairman

Chris Gibson-Smith, the current chairman of the UK's National Air Traffic Services (Nats), is to become chairman of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in July.

Gibson-Smith, who will succeed outgoing chairman Don Cruickshank, was previously a managing director at BP. He is also a non-executive director of Lloyds TSB and property company British Land.
