LSE chief defends UK listing rule changes

Debate is intensifying around efforts to lure state-owned companies – such as Saudi Aramco – to the capital

London Stock Exchange’s top executive has endorsed the right of the UK securities regulator to consider changing its rules, a move that could make it easier to woo the listing of oil giant Saudi Aramco.

Xavier Rolet said: "I think it's a totally normal, in fact habitual, process and absolutely appropriate for the regulators to ensure that our rules remain effective but also keep up with the times."
