LSE confirms new midday auction

Move would coincide with a similar auction operated by Deutsche Börse and would put pressure on others to follow suit

The London Stock Exchange has confirmed plans to introduce a midday auction for all UK equities by the end of next year, as part of group-wide efforts to boost trading in large orders.

The LSE said in a statement Wednesday that it would run a two minute auction at 12pm for all stocks on its main UK Sets market from late 2015, in addition to its opening and closing auctions.
