The London Stock Exchange Group has handed a senior executive who has played a key role in almost all of the major deals under its chief executive Xavier Rolet's tenure the new post of chief strategy officer.

David Lester, until now the LSE's group director of corporate strategy, has assumed the title of chief strategy officer, according to a memo from Rolet that was sent to staff on February 26 and seen by Financial News.
