LSE pays Citi $685m for bond indices

The London Stock Exchange has bought a suite of bond indices from Citigroup in a $685m cash deal that will pitch it into deeper competition with the world's leading index providers.

In the first big deal since its merger with rival Deutsche Börse collapsed, the LSE has acquired Citi Fixed Income Indices and The Yield Book, a bond analytics platform run by the US investment bank.
