Euronext and Deutsche Börse last night dismissed proposals made by the UK Competition Commission designed to ease issues relating to their potential takeovers of the London Stock Exchange.
The commission devised the guidelines after concluding that both Deutsche Börse and Euronext would dominate clearing of UK equities following a takeover and could push prices up.
