US bank names former Goldman Sachs partner and financial institutions specialist to head its mergers and acquisitions business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa

A former Goldman Sachs partner and financial institutions specialist has been named by Bank of America Merrill Lynch to head its mergers and acquisitions business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Luigi Rizzo will join Bank of America Merrill Lynch in August as head of M&A for Emea, according to a memo seen by Financial News. He will report in to Adrian Mee, head of international M&A, who had co-run Emea M&A with Philip Noblet. As part of Rizzo's appointment, Noblet will become chairman of Emea M&A.
