For those among the very rich who feel a bit self-conscious driving a new Bentley Continental but still want luxury during the credit crunch, a Hermès-finished Smart car might just be the car for these cash-strapped times.

The new car will retail at €39,000 and has been unveiled in Paris as part of the 10th anniversary of Daimler's Smart car division and its French distributor.
