David Cheyne has taken over from Anthony Cann as head of the corporate department at Linklaters.

Cheyne, who has worked on many high profile deals including the Vodafone/Mannesmann merger, and the defence of NatWest against offers by Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland, has been a partner at the firm for twenty years.
