Merger and acquisition bankers working in London are the most richly rewarded for their labours, according to a survey of the capital's finance professionals.

The numbers, based on a survey of 4,000 London-based directors, show that despite post-crisis regulations that have constrained bankers' bonuses, they are still the best-paid workers in the UK finance sector.
