Macquarie 'in talks' to buy New Skies

Macquarie, the acquisitive Australian investment bank, is reportedly in talks to buy New Skies, the Netherlands-based satellite business from its private equity owner, The Blackstone Group.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Macquarie may make a formal bid for the company valuing it at up to $1.3bn (€1.1bn). New Skies has annual revenues of less than $250m.
