Majority of M&A deals remain domestic, says report

Despite a drive toward globalisation, 71% of all mergers and acquisitions completed worldwide between 1995 and 2000 were domestic, according to research by Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein.

Poland and Bulgaria showed the greatest bias towards domestic M&A deals, with each doing 99% of deals in their home country, compared with only 31% in the Netherlands.
