The asset management unit of Canadian insurer Manulife has hired a former distribution executive at Ignis Asset Management for a newly created role as global head of distribution in London, amid a push to expand its global reach.

Claude Chene will join the firm in July, reporting to Kai Sotorp, president and chief executive of the C$383 billion (US$302 billion) fund manager, the firm said Tuesday.
