The co-head of European equity derivatives sales at Citigroup, who was named a Financial News Rising Star in 2010 at the age of just 27, has left the US bank, Financial News has learnt.

Manvir Nijhar departed the Citi earlier this month, according to three sources familiar with the situation. He was registered as inactive on the Financial Services Authority's register of authorised persons as of February 6. Citi declined to comment
