Bank of England Governor Mark Carney has said he intends to leave the central bank in mid-2019, regardless of whether the UK has concluded exit talks with the European Union.

The central bank governor had planned to leave in 2018 after five years but agreed last month to stay an extra year following June's referendum on exiting the EU.
