MarketAxess, the electronic corporate bond trading system, has poached a senior manager from Morgan Stanley to head its technology operations and help build its share of the fixed income markets.

Thomas Thees, who worked at Morgan Stanley for 16 years, most recently as managing director and head of investment grade trading in North America, has joined as chief operating officer. Before Morgan Stanley, he worked at Goldman Sachs and Citibank.
