Stock exchanges face years of work to make financial markets based on blockchains a reality, according to one of the most senior executives in the industry.

Speaking on September 26 at an FN Breakfast Briefing looking at the future of the world’s stock exchanges, Thomas Zeeb, the chair of SIX Digital Exchange, the Swiss stock exchange’s platform for digital assets, said: “None of us here are Uber. We can’t afford to be. The markets are far too complex, far too interrelated to mess around with a model where you throw it out there and fix it afterwards.”
