Marking time

This year marks the 175 anniversary of Antoine-LeCoultre setting up his watchmaking workshop in Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. Since 1833 it has grown into the world-renowned brand Jaeger-LeCoultre, and to mark the occasion the company has created the Master Control 1833 Collection - four watches highlighting the legacy of its founder.

Each unique watch is a showcase for Jaeger-LeCoultre's expertise befitting the company’s history and contribution to Swiss watchmaking. Following the philosophy of the essential, the slender Master Ultra Thin (pictured bottom right) has a manually wound mechanical movement, the 123-piece Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 849. Not only does it hold the record for thinness at just 1.85mm but vibrates 21,600 times per hour.
