Markit chief executive Lance Uggla has urged the financial industry to work "better together" as it faces up to regulatory headwinds, a pressure to reduce costs and a lack of data standards.

In a keynote speech at the Financial News Awards for Excellence for Trading and Technology on Wednesday, Uggla said post-crisis reform had created "headwinds for many businesses", adding the "financial industry needs to look ahead and find a collectively agreed path".
