Martin Currie, the Edinburgh-based investment manager, has raised an initial $22m (€18.8m) for its fifth hedge fund, the Martin Currie European Absolute Return Fund.

The seed capital has been raised in partnership with Fortune Asset Management and further investment is expected over the coming months.
