Martin Currie to open Australia office

Martin Currie Investment Management, the Edinburgh-based equities manager, is searching for an executive to run a new Australian office, making it the latest in a string of international fund managers planning to launch a business in the country.

Australia’s pension fund assets are likely to increase from €606.7bn ($892.3bn) in 2006 to €1,466.4bn by 2015, the biggest absolute increase in pension assets in the Asia-Pacific region, research by fund manager Allianz Global Investors shows.
