Matrix Private Equity, the UK start-up investor, has promoted Helen Sinclair to managing director following the departure of Mark Burgess, who founded the firm with her.

Sinclair was an investment executive at 3i from 1991 to 1998, before helping to set up Matrix Private Equity, currently raising its second fund, in 2000.
