Maxime Carmignac takes reins of London office

Edouard Carmignac’s daughter takes charge of business strategy as the fund manager signals its commitment to the UK

Maxime Carmignac, daughter of the founder of French asset manager Carmignac Gestion, has been appointed head of the company's year-old London office, in a move that the firm says signals its commitment to the UK.

Carmignac takes up her position as of today, after returning from maternity leave. The move marks a step up to managerial responsibilities for the younger Carmignac, 33, who up until December was a portfolio manager on the firm's international long/short equity fund.
