MPs have rejected UK Prime Minister Theresa May’s preferred deal to leave the European Union by 58 votes, marking the third time her agreement has been vetoed by the UK parliament.

The rejection, by 344 votes to 286, comes despite May’s attempts to swing Tory rebels by offering to step down as leader of the Conservative Party if her deal was approved.
