London’s mayor has called for the city to receive more vaccination jabs, citing data which showed the region has vaccinated among the lowest proportion of people aged over 80 in the country.
Khan said Londoners had so far received around a tenth of England’s vaccine supply, despite its population size and density. He added that he has petitioned the government’s vaccines minister Nadhim Zahawi to allocate more shots to people in the capital, asking that London “urgently receive an amount of the vaccine that reflects our size, density and the level of need in our city”.
