McCreevy outlines plans to cut private equity regulation

Charlie McCreevy, the European internal market commissioner, is to push forward plans to relieve what he considers to be regulatory and fiscal burdens placed on private equity companies. He will debate the proposals at an open meeting in Brussels on July 19.

Speaking at the Paris Europlace conference this morning, McCreevy said an EU expert group ‘impact report' on the European private equity industry would be released prior to the July 19th open debate.
