EquiLend, the company pushing an automated global marketplace for securities lending, has appointed Kevin McNulty, a managing director of Barclays Global Investors, as its inaugural chairman in Europe.

The appointment continues EquiLend's development outside the US. The company, established three years ago, appointed Sharon Walker as managing director in Europe earlier this year. It made progress in Asia in 2003 by signing up Nomura as a member.
