John Godden, managing director of HFR Asset Management Europe, the London-based arm of hedge fund group HFR, has quit. It is not known whether he has another job to go to.

Godden joined HFR Asset Management in 2001 to launch its European business, and is credited with having significantly increased the group's assets under management as well as launching new products based on HFR's investable indices.
