Jason Windsor has only been at Abrdn seven months, but has already emerged as the front-runner to take over from outgoing chief executive Stephen Bird.

The 51-year-old, who joined the FTSE 250 asset manager from housebuilder Persimmon in October as chief financial officer, was named interim CEO on 24 May following Bird’s exit.
