Stephen Barclay, the newly-appointed economic secretary to the Treasury, knows more than most of his parliamentary colleagues about life and work in the City.

Before being elected as the Conservative MP for North East Cambridgeshire in May 2010, Barclay had spent his entire career in the financial sector.
