Mellon Bank has hired Ian Gunner from ABN Amro to replace Marc Chandler as chief currency strategist.

Gunner will be based in London rather than in New York, the previous location for the role. Positioning Gunner in Europe puts Mellon in a better position to sell foreign exchange as a value-added service to the clients of the ABN Amro Mellon custody joint venture.
