Jon Little has been promoted to chief executive officer of Mellon Global Investments (MGI), part of Mellon Financial Corporation in Pittsburg, following the departure of Jon Groom.

Groom has decided to leave Mellon for personal reasons, but will take the time necessary to enable a smooth transition. Groom was originally hired from Alliance Capital, where he ran the non-US mutual fund business, to build the MGI's non-US platform, including the integration of Newton Investment Management.
