Aberdeen Asset Management has wasted little time in expanding its new alternatives team by adding an investment consultant to its ranks.

The £324 billion fund manager has called on the expertise of Simon Fox, formerly a principal in the alternatives business at Mercer, to help "raise the profile" of its Aberdeen Solutions businesses, which covers alternatives, long only multi-asset and quant strategies.
