Ray Martin, who was vice-chairman of the investment committee of the National Association of Pension Funds until last year, and chairman of the NAPF benefits council before that, is to join Mercer Human Resource Consulting as a principal in its client management team.

Martin has been human resources director at Scottish & Newcastle and before that held senior roles in the compensation and benefits departments at Airbus SAS, ICI, Rexam and Zeneca.
