The investment consultant is developing a new research tool that it says will give its consultants a better view of underlying exposures in fund managers’ portfolios

Investment consultant Mercer is developing a new research tool that it says will give its consultants a better view of underlying exposures in fund managers’ portfolios.

The new technology will use research on what managers have promised their investors, and data on returns, to determine where active managers have out-performed, and where investments could be made at a lower cost to investors - for example by using a passive strategy for which lower fees are charged.
