Merger thrusts Deutsche up the league

Reuters survey sees a reshuffle of fund managers at the top of the rankings with Merrill Lynch replaced in the number-one slot as Deutsche Bank's merger with Bankers Trust kicks in

Deutsche Bank, thanks partly to the merger with Bankers Trust, shot to first place in the fund managers' league tables for overall brokers' services and products, according to the Reuters Survey of UK Larger Company Research, Sales and Trading.

Warburg Dillon Read retained its second slot while Merrill Lynch, which had been number one last year, dropped to third place, a position which had previously been filled by BT Alex. Brown in 1999.
