Adam Horowitz, currently country head of Merrill Lynch South Africa, is to take on the additional role of country manager for central and eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA).
Horowitz was previously at Smith New Court, the UK broker, until it was acquired by Merrill in 1995. He initially managed emerging markets equity sales in New York before being appointed deputy chief executive officer of Merrill Lynch South Africa in 1999. Two years later he became country head.
