Merrill expands foreign exchange operations

Merrill Lynch has hired three senior traders for its global foreign exchange operations in New York and Tokyo.

The hires come at a time when foreign exchange is in the global spotlight. David Hoffman joins as a director and forwards trader. His previous roles include trading futures, swaps, derivatives, options and forward rate agreements at Deutsche Bank, Nomura Securities and Manufacturers Hanover Trust.
