Merrill Lynch is launching the Merrill Lynch Defined Income and Growth Trust, a new London Stock Exchange (LSE) listed closed-end investment company offering predetermined high levels of income or capital growth.

Combining an institutional placing and an offer to the public, the two share classes will offer an annual yield of 9.25%, paid in four quarterly installments or a capital rollup option of 30.4% after three years.
