Merrill Lynch MD joins hedge fund

The head of Merrill Lynch’s corporate principal investments has left the bank to take a job with a hedge fund run by a former colleague in the latest departure from an investment bank to a hedge fund.

Graham Goldsmith, a managing director and head of corporate principal investments which targets minority stakes in companies distressed debt, has taken a job with Greenwich based hedge fund manager Strategic Value Partners, according to news service Bloomberg.
