Merrill Lynch has elected a former Miller Brewing executive and an ex-UK cabinet adviser to the Mayor of London to its board of directors.

Virgis Colbert, the retired executive vice president of worldwide operations for Miller Brewing Company, was named to the nominating and corporate governance committee of the board. He is currently a director of the Sara Lee Corporation, Stanley Works, the Manitowoc Company, and the Delphi Corporation. Colbert also is chairman emeritus of the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund.
