Merrill Lynch has promoted Philip Yates from European head of mergers and acquisitions to co-head of global M&A.
Yates will share the co-head role with Steve Baronoff, who until recently was sole head of global M&A. The bank said in a statement: "This appointment recognises Philip's performance and leadership of our European M&A department and endorses the critical importance of Europe in the future expansion of our global M&A franchise."
