Merrill Lynch seeds Central European hedge fund

Merrill Lynch has put $14m (€10m) of its own money into a new hedge fund founded by Rafael Berber, the bank's former head of equity-linked products. The fund will focus on Central Europe and has raised $140m.

Berber has formed RP Capital to run the fund. The firm will be based in London but will have the legal structure of a subsidiary of a Czech-registered financial services company.
