Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB) has poached a trio of senior media investment bankers from Merrill Lynch, in a bid to broaden coverage of companies such as News Corp, headed by Rupert Murdoch.

CSFB has hired John Trousdale, David Weil and Eric Federman as managing directors in its media and telecom investment banking division. The hires mean CSFB now has seven managing directors in the team, headed by Marc Granetz.
