Merrill Lynch is tightening co-ordination of its emerging markets operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by giving Paul Rafael country manager responsibilities.

Currently head of emerging market investment banking for the region, Rafael will oversee asset management and deposit banking as well as fixed income and equity capital markets. His country manager responsibilities cover Central and South-east Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
