Merrill quits advisory role as Scoot prepares Loot sale

Merrill Lynch has resigned as financial adviser, broker and sponsor to troubled UK information provider Scoot.com, on the same day that Scoot said it would sell its Loot division to Daily Mail & General Trust for £45m (€71m).

Scoot hired Merrill Lynch in October last year as global financial adviser and joint corporate broker, and the bank later began working on a strategic review for the company.
