BofA Merrill hires six-man RBS team for corporate banking

US bank bolsters lending arm in Europe as banks look to cross-sell corporate finance products to lending clients

Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired a team of former Royal Bank of Scotland bankers to bolster its European corporate lending business as it seeks to lean on new and existing lending relationships to cross sell advisory and other products.

The US bank has hired a team of 10 financing bankers for its corporate banking platform including six from RBS, two from Citigroup, one from Calyon and one from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, according to a statement.
