Dante Roscini, the global co-head of equity capital markets at Merrill Lynch, is to become head of capital markets and financing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea) and chairman of global ECM.
The move is part of Merrill's decision to more closely align its origination businesses across all financial products. In September the US investment bank separated its underwriting business from sales and trading and linked it with corporate finance to create a global capital markets and financing group. Roscini said: "The firm has realised that as time has moved on you need a broader ability to think across product silos. What we are doing is institutionalising cross-selling."
